No Visa?

Days 25 – 32 Tblisi

Once we arrived at the passport control in Georgia we got a few quizzically stares from the border control officer. He looked at our passports, did a search on his phone, looked up and said “No visa” 😮 I asked “How much?” And he answers “no money” – yes we didn’t need a visa and we were free to enter and stay up to a year!

This set the tone for the rest of our stay in Georgia!

It’s been 22 days since we started and this was a perfect city to take time out and recharge our batteries.

Tblisi has so much to offer a visitor. The old city still maintains its charming Georgian past. Brimming with quaint accommodation stays and countless restaurant choices. The days were hot and the evenings cool and pleasant. This made for a vibrant night life where locals and tourists alike were out to enjoy the local foods, shopping at the street stalls or relaxing at one of the countless fountains and parks. My favourite part of the stay was to explore the city on foot. The local flea market definitely had interesting knick knacks on offer, from antique china, ram horns to name a few but my favourite section was the art collections on sale. This city has some very talented artists, not only were they selling their works but many contributed to livening up the underground pedestrian walkways. This is one place you would want to come back to explore some more.

While signage was either in Georgian or Russian, English was used on the main highways and more widely spoken. This made our stay much more comfortable.

But the question begged where would we go next….
